My stay at The Lilacs was delightful, with a lovely hostess who made me feel right at home. The breakfast was generous and delicious, featuring homemade marmalade and a heartwarming atmosphere. The room was beautifully decorated with an enormous bathroom that had plenty of space.

Access to the main road is tricky.

The breakfast here was a real highlight. Cooked to order and piping hot, it featured high-quality ingredients that made it delicious. The view from the back rooms offers a nice rural scenery, adding a peaceful touch to your stay.

Finding the hotel's entrance was tricky, hidden off a busy road with small signage. The room I stayed in was old-fashioned and rather cramped, especially given the awkward, narrow staircase. The room's proximity to the road resulted in constant traffic noise that made ventilation on a warm evening a tough choice between fresh air and quiet. The ensuite was notably tiny, with some ventilation issues leading to dampness. Overall cleanliness didn't meet expectations, and there were a few maintenance issues with broken fixtures that could use attention.

Waking up to the aroma of a freshly cooked English breakfast was a treat. The hostess, Tina, provided a warm atmosphere and personalized service that made me feel at home.

The only downside was the noise from the busy road, particularly in the early morning. A room facing the back might offer a quieter experience for light sleepers.

We had a pure braw time! The room was smashing with lovely views over the fields and a braw big bathroom to boot. Breakfast was cracking too, right tasty! Just be wary of the busy road outside if you’re a light sleeper.

This place suits me perfectly with free parking, flat-screen TV, and excellent wi-fi. The staff even helped me find a local taxi on my first stay. I highly recommend this spot for a great stay.

Solo traveler experience worth it

Tina was an amazing hostess, the kind that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The room was peaceful, especially with those stunning views over the fields. waking up to that was a real treat.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but the experience was more than worth what I paid.

Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with a spacious bathroom that added a touch of luxury to our stay. My only concern was some dampness in the room, but overall, I felt very welcomed and appreciated the personal touches throughout my visit.

It was a good pick for a couple of nights in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, with definitely value for money. The breakfast was excellent, perfectly cooked, and beautifully set up in a charming area. If you're a light sleeper, consider asking for a room at the back.

I stayed in a Double Room for 1 night, and it was quite comfy. The bathroom was spacious, which was great! There was a lovely view of the countryside from the back, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like chocolates. The bed was cozy, making it easy to grab some good sleep. the room was a bit cramped for my liking, and if you’re sensitive to noise, it might not be the best choice since it’s near a busy road.
